Please wait, Transporting you back to the 60s
"It's like it's actually the 60s!"
The Actualisers were formed in 2017 following the retirement of the late Billy Hyland after 10 years performing as the Fifth Element. With the addition of Neil Davis as frontman on guitar and lead vocals and Phil Clyde on drums, we decided to re-start the band with a new name concentrating on some great sixties numbers from The Small Faces, The Spencer Davis Group, The Love Affair, The Easybeats, Thunderclap Newman, Chris Farlowe, Badfinger, The Bee Gees, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Beatles and more.

We always go down a storm but don't just take our word for it, here's a selection of recent feedback:

Chas De Lacy
As a teenager, Chas was bass player with the sixties group The Gremlins from South London who's 'High Time Baby' recording at the RG Jones studio acheived later cult status. The Gremlins became The Zam Band and ultimately released 'Baby Come Back To Me' under the name Simon de Lacy. During that period also worked with Chris Andrews, Pete Thorp (The Roulettes), Heinz, and supported bands such as The Pink Floyd, The Troggs, Lee Dorsey etc. and over the years has played lead guitar with other bands & projects, joining up with The Fifth Element on bass in 2007 ( "thought it would fun to play bass again") which has now led on to The Actualisers. Chas also is lead guitarist with Shadows tribute band The Evening Shadows.

Rob Wyatt
A founding member of the Fifth Element, Rob previously worked with Neil as part of a songwriting duo in the 80's and 90's, achieving some acclaim for their brand of sixties-influenced electronic pop. Rob returned to performing in the 2000's, forming the Fifth Element in 2007. Rob's driving organ and spot-on harmonies are the cornerstone of the Actualiser's sound.

Neil Davis
Following Billy Hyland's departure from the Fifth Element, Rob called on his old schoolfriend and former songwriting partner Neil to add his blend of powerful vocals and melodic guitar to the newly formed Actualisers. Neil, having previously fronted local faves Doghouse on bass, was up for the challenge of picking up his electric and knocking out some cracking sixties tunes. By way of a contrast, Neil also plays mandolin in the folk/ragtime trio 'Teasing the Cat' (but don't tell anyone!)

Nick Simonon
Nick has recently rejoined the Actualisers after having been a part of the band's previous incarnation, The Fifth Element. Nick's driving, soulful and swinging technique perfectly complements the band's style. Nick is a music teacher, great musician and also the pulse behind Brighton-based rockabilly trio, the Houserockers.
